Privacy Policy — Google Integration
Effective Date: May 13, 2026 Last Updated: May 13, 2026
Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Virtues handles data accessed through Google APIs — including Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive — when you connect a Google account to your Virtues Server. Virtues is a self-hosted personal data ecosystem; data ingested from Google services is stored on hardware you own and operate.
Compliance with Google API Services User Data Policy
Virtues’ use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Data We Access
When you connect a Google account, the Virtues integration may request scoped access to:
- Gmail — message metadata and contents you authorize for ingestion
- Google Calendar — events, attendees, and reminders
- Google Drive — files and folders you explicitly select for indexing
You choose which services to connect and which scopes to grant. Access can be revoked at any time from your Google account settings or your Virtues Server.
How We Use the Data
- Data is transferred directly from Google to your Virtues Server. Virtues, the company, never receives, stores, or processes the contents of your Google data on our servers.
- Data is used solely to populate your personal data lake on your own hardware.
- We do not sell, share, transfer, or use your Google data for advertising, model training, or any purpose unrelated to the user-facing features you authorize.
Storage and Security
All Google data remains on your Virtues Server. Encryption at rest and in transit follows the same standards as the rest of the Virtues stack. Virtues, the company, holds no copies.
Your Rights
You may disconnect any Google integration at any time. Disconnecting revokes the access token; data already ingested into your Virtues Server remains on your hardware under your control.
